Sharon Power Choice is an electricity aggregation program, which is a type of group electricity purchasing program for Sharon residents and businesses from the Town of Sharon. Sharon Power Choice gives electricity customers in Sharon a Town alternative to their utility’s Basic Service and to other electricity supply offers in the marketplace, more renewable electricity, and long-term, stable electricity supply prices (though savings compared with the utilities’ Basic Service prices cannot be guaranteed). The program launched in 2021.

Sharon Power Choice offers three consumer-friendly electricity choices that give you greater control over the renewable energy content and price of your electricity supply.

Participate	New electricity accounts in Sharon will be eligible for automatic enrollment in Sharon Power Choice on a periodic basis and after receiving a notice by mail from the Town. You may also choose to enroll online or with a phone call. Learn more.
Compare the cost	Compare program prices to Eversource’s and National Grid’s current Basic Service prices. Or use the online calculator to compare program prices with your utility’s most recent 12-month average price and calculate the greenhouse gas impact emissions avoided by participating in the program.
How it works	A municipal electricity aggregation is a group electricity purchasing program. Participating in Sharon Power Choice will change your electricity supplier and the price your utility uses to calculate the Supply portion of your electric bill, but participating will not replace your electric utility. Please note that, while Sharon Power Choice offers the potential for savings when compared with Eversource’s and National Grid’s Basic Service prices, there is no guarantee of savings. This is because the utilities’ Basic Service prices change seasonally, and future Basic Service prices are unknown.
